Haha, a fetus doesn't go to Heaven if it's aborted--fetuses lack souls! That is why abortion isn't a bad thing. Well, also the fact that abortion helps to conserve the environment, as too many people being born will eventually kill those of us already here as our resources are depleted......

Well, let's start with the medical aspect of this question first. Most people aren't aware that by the 4th week of gestation that the baby has a heartbeat already. Not only a heartbeat, but a rudimentary brain, along with nerves and sensory perception. Yes, fetus' feel pain. Because there is a heart beating, that constitutes life. Most women don't even know they are pregnant until after that fourth week, so even before they know, there is life.
Now, onto my person opion on this matter. Until you have witnessed or performed an abortion, you can't say anything about it. You don't know the sound of the machines, the sound of the vacuum as it rips apart the tiny body. The chunks of tissue that are sucked out. The pain that most women go through, emotional and physically after an abortion. Usually not right at first emotionally, but later in life, they will most surely regret having it done. There are exceptions of course, but not many.
I have had to perform a few abortions, and I will never do it again. I won't do it in my practice. Women have to go elsewhere to have it done. It is a personal choice of mine, and one that reflects my beliefs that all life, no matter how small or insignificant, is worth something. When you are talking about abortion, yes it is the woman's choice to have it done, and they should have that choice, but I wish there was more information available to them before they have the procedure.
As far as fetus' going to heaven. Yes they have souls. Once the heart starts beating, a soul is present, at least some of the time. Yes they go to heaven. I know this for a fact. They didn't choose to have their mothers take their life. They didn't choose to not be born into this world.
I have had 2 miscarriages and a still birth. I have had confirmation that all of those little tiny beings are in heaven. That is great comfort to me. I know that they are saved and that God loves them no less for dying before they were born. I'm sure if you asked other women who have had the same experiences that I have, they would tell you the same.

This is rather interesting. As you see from the answer people have a wide range of philosophical and religious beliefs as to when life begins and the existence of souls or when someone get a soul. It seems to me if we believe in religious freedom and diversity we must acknowledge others have different beliefs than our own on this issue and should be allowed them. Otherwise what happens to the precious religious belief in free will. As for the free will of a fetus I think the more educated will admit that a fetus doesn't have enough brain development to know it exists yet.

ba·by (bā'bē) pronunciation
n., pl. -bies.
1.
1. A very young child; an infant.
2. An unborn child; a fetus.
3. The youngest member of a family or group.
4. A very young animal.
2. An adult or young person who behaves in an infantile way.
3. Slang. A girl or young woman.
4. Informal. Sweetheart; dear. Used as a term of endearment.
5. Slang. An object of personal concern or interest: Keeping the boat in good repair is your baby.
why is it wrong?
Exo 20:13 Thou shalt not kill.
Mat 7:12 Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them:
Psa 127:3 Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.
what if Mary the mother of Christ our savior had bee pro-choice?
what if it were you being aborted on a daily basis? it's easy to sit and say pro- choice, pro-choice, because you have the choice to say it. those millions of babies who yes even though they go to heaven still deserved the right to be born so they could have a choice in life.
the "fetus" has a soul.
Jer 1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
and when that fetus dies Ecc 12:7 Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

I do not say it is right or wrong. It is a very personal, MEDICAL choice and it is no one's business but the mother's. Those who stand outside protesting and telling women they are murderers - and yes, I have had friends on their way to CHECK UPS at clinics called sluts and murderers - have no idea why women are entering clinics and have no right to assume that every woman entering a clinic that performs OTHER SERVICES is there for an abortion. They also have no idea how that woman became pregnant and should be ashamed because any woman who passes by them and is harrassed could be a victim of rape or incest. But then these are the kinds of people who probably think if a woman is raped she somehow invited it and shouldn't have worn that low-cut blouse.

A fetus is a baby. the heart is beating. I have one inside me right now. and when we go to heaven it says in the bible we get a new body, so that goes for fetus/babies too...
It's wrong becuase your taking a life that is not your to take.
ALSO to clarify what someone else posted. A baby/todler/child will always go to heaven, until they reach the age of accountability (diff ages for dif kids) and when they can make a choice that they want to be saved or they want to live like a heathern and they understand whats going on then they have to make a choice. God don't expect little bitty children to know whats going on...

The problem isn't with the fetus; it's with the MOTHER and the environment leading her to that fateful decision.

You could debate all day about this, so I am going to be short and sweet.... I could make this in a lengthy essay, but I want to spare my fingers.
If there is conception there is life. Point blank. It is morally wrong to kill another human being, and illegal to kill an out-of-womb being.
FYI- According to the Catholic religion, an aborted baby would not go to heaven, it would go to purgatory (limbo).
If you don't believe in God, that's fine. I could really care less, but let me leave you with this thought.... Your mom didn't abort you, would you want to have been an aborted child? Of course not. Every person deserves a chance at life, even if their life ends up being $hitty. It's better to have that chance then to not give it to someone.

You can't go to heaven as an adult either.
We don't go to heaven.
Psalm 115:16 says the heavens belong to God and He gave us the earth.
Psalm 37:29 says God's original purpose is to have us live forever on earth.
Think of it:
God told Adam he would lose the gift of life if he ate of the forbidden fruit.
He ate. He died.
Where would Adam be if he never touched (nor ate) the forbidden fruit?
We were never meant for heaven.

Given your question, then answer me this:
Why is it a chargeable offense to cause the death of a fetus in an assault or a motor vehicle accident, and it's NOT a chargeable offense when a fetus dies at the hands of an abortionist, in conspiracy with the mother.
Fortunately, the Bible covers the topic nicely...
