You're 19, not 13. If your parents raised you well, they raised you to make your own decisions. It sounds like you might be violating the values that you were raised with or you would be happy to share your news about this relationship with them. If you're engaging in a major departure from your own moral compass, maybe this is a signal that this is not a good choice. If it's a matter of feeling that your parents will disapprove and try to exert control over your life, that's a maturity and independence issue you need to address as an adult.

If you are both 19 then what do you have to worry about? You are considered an adult and you can make your own decisions. Just tell them that you have met someone and he lives in AL. They cannot do anything about it IF you are an adult.

I dont understand your problem. Is it because he lives far away from you or something? I mean why not just say, '"Hey mom and dad, I met this great boy from Alabama and he is my boyfriend."
