You must not have ever gone to Mexico, right?
1. Poverty -- the people sometimes make as little as a dollar a day. There are few, if any social programs to help them.
2. Government oppression- if you don't agree with the people in power, you run the risk of "disappearing".
3. Drug cartels -they run the country and kill each other off regularly, and if you happen to be in the way .. you too.
The government is corrupt - what do people expect when police make something like 400 a MONTH?
Easy money=corrupt cops and chaos.
When they come over here- a female (just by being a housekeeper) can make over 100 a week- that is like being rich to them.
i live on the border. We see it everyday.

It all has to do with being properly registered as a legally-landed citizen. They (the gov) give you a SSN and you pay the taxes you owe, unless you are sponsored by a family member who is already here LEGALLY who can prove that he can support you (financially) for a certain period of time. From what I read once, you still need proper documentation to emigrate to US if you are from Puerto Rico, which is a US "emirate". It's sad that some illegals are simply looking for a better life, and have to move from their homeland to do so.

Immigration in general is necessary in order to have an influx/balance of money, labor, and skills into/out of a country. (Isn't it good to allow people to move from one city to another, or one state to another? Those are also forms of immigration.) These are normal push/pull factors. If I find a better job in another city or state, I might move there. If I lose my job or hate it so much that I quit, then I might move somewhere else to find something better.
Furthermore if neighboring countries are unstable politically/socially people will want to move out to a better place. For example, a person might live in a very dangerous and ugly neighborhood, it makes sense that they might want to move and look for a better place.
Now, when illegal immigration occurs, that normally means that the need for money, labor, and/or skills is greater than what the country legally allows in. It can also mean life is pretty bad in neighboring countries...

It's because of poverty, simply it. "Freedom", "government repression"... bullshit, Mexico is a democracy. But people above are too ignorant to know what is going on in another countries. I see some people complaining that they have to be bilingual, as if it such a terrible thing. Look, here in Brazil if you want a good job you must know english, and I have lived all my life in Brazil, how unfair! oh!

They cross over here illegal to make money. They live 20 to a house to save costs to allow them to wire most of the money back to Mexico. If they get caught and deported they are back in 3 months but now they have come back as a cousin (a new set of fake papers). Most have no intention of staying here forever. Make the money, get it out of the country, then they can go back home and live like kings on the money made here.

Money.. Lets face it they got alot of poor people in mexico.. I don't mind people comming over to work if they do it by legal means. But the excuse for that is it takes too long to get the paper work through or some corrupt offical will only let certain people through.

A big one is gross negligence, in all countries involved, especially ours. If we did not tolerate the precedent set by the 86 amnesty, there'd be no illegal immigration. Well, here we are, 20 years later, wondering what happened to the store'...

This project isn't in all threat amnesty. it particularly is how critically you punish somebody for skipping the place of work work. There are in reality 2 ends of the spectrum. One says that no longer registering is like using without automobile insurance. The penalty, assuming you have executed no longer the rest unlawful, could be paying a great, paying your returned taxes, and then filling out the right place of work work to improve right into a documented alien. the different end of the spectrum says that no longer registering could be a criminal, like stealing a automobile, and grounds for everlasting and on the spot deportation. no longer purely that, absolutely everyone who helped the undocumented alien additionally should be to blame of a criminal. in my opinion, I prefer the 1st suggestions-set. it particularly is less demanding, solves the documentation problems, enable's people save their jobs, and delivers sales like the different taxpayer. And it is not obtainable to deport 12 million people. we don't have the components, manpower, or the skill to maintain them out in the event that they like to objective and are available returned. yet ranging from a rational place now, allowing people who've already been right here various years to stay assuming they have executed no longer the rest incorrect (see selection one), is attainable. which ability deporting in simple terms the contemporary ones and people who've a criminal record (different than failing to check in). plenty extra viable.
