Accept yourself. If you would call somebody who plays video games, downloads mass-amounts of music and reads comic books a nerd, then I too am indeed a nerd. We all have a little bit of nerd in us, don't we?

I think it's because you don't ask them complete questions. So, they don't know how to respond and they ignore you.
