My dad died from emphysema (3 packs a day). My mother had a stroke, a result of complications of Peripheral Artery Disease. She also has COPD, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (2 packs a day)

theres no major disease associated with cigarettes the scaremongers just use that as an excuse because they don't want people to know what really causes cancer etc plus they don't like people enjoying something they dont if smoking and passive smoking cause the diseases they say why havent we all got cancer etc

The most common, cigatte smoke associated disease is COPD - Chronic Obstructive Pumonary Disease.
Smoking is also associated with ca. lung, ca. tongue, ca. pharynx, MI, CHD, PVD, CVA (& TIA), reflux (GORD), duodenal & gastric ulcers and a few other bits and pieces.

Something, no one else as mentioned, I think, is gangrene. Smoking reduces the oxygen to your fingers and toes, and some people have had to have feet, and legs amputated
