Actually these are pretty standard sizes, so blame it on the retailers if those ain't your measurements.

Cat, my problem was not with your preference for a size 8, but to your referring as size 10 as big. That's just ridiculous. In fact, this thread is dedicated to you ; )

I actually am what you have written to be a size 12, but i actually fit into more size 14 stuff.
I would like to be 36/26/36 which is between your 10 and 12, i suppose.
Looking at this sizing, i would say that manufacturers have ' put up' the sizes from when i was a teenager. I reckon what they now call a 10 was, in fact, a 12 in the early 70s. I dont know if that is true or not.
I'm talking UK sizes here.

I'm a uk size 6 on top and a size 8 on the bottom. My preference would be UK Size 8 (US size 4) - 33-25-35 all over for my 5'2" frame.
