It isn't awkward, but you have to choose the guy carefully.
He needs to be someone you're attracted to, like, and feel safe with, but at the same time he needs to be someone you're not going to want a real relationship with.
Most women I know make the mistake of having one-night stands with guys they really like a lot. That's bad because having sex with guys they would want to have as boyfriends causes them to bond with them and feel emotionally attached. And most of the time, the guy just wants to use them for sex. So then the women spend a lot of time pining after the guy, hoping for more, and analyzing every little thing he says or does in the hope of finding that he really cares for them after all. Meanwhile, all the guy is hoping for is more sex.
The safest guys are those you know you'd never want to be in a relationship with. One-night stands with guys like that can be great.

In my 20s yeah - tried that once. Great fun at the time. But the gal turned out to be kind of psycho as she started laying claim to my stuff and wouldn't stop calling me. So there's risk involved. That's probably what amps up the excitement. And of course BE SAFE for your physical health and make the guy use a condom.

This is from a mans perspective, it is really fun and not awkward, there is a certain danger that is thrilling, you do not know the person, but in the long run you lose a little piece of yourself each time you do it...

It's a whole lot easier if you've never met the person before..dont' talk about their lives, don't ask if their married, use bc,don't eat breakfast together.
