The diet should at least help with preparing meals and what type food to buy at the grocery store. Also include how many calories should be eaten a day and the limit for each day.

i am not on a diet plan...it is more a wellness plan...it is called herbalife. you have a personal coach who checks up on you at least once a week. it is really a great diet....i have been on it for only two weeks and so far i have lost over 5.5 inches on my body...and 5 pounds. dieting is something that takes time...and this one is worth the try...plus you don't have to committ to it for a long time....you know like paying a fee for the year...you just go by the products you buy. it is a great way to diet.

I can suggest two: South Beach and the Curves diet.

South Beach doesn't necessarily limit your daily calorie intake, but it does give you nice lists of good foods and bad foods. It works primarily by replacing high-glycemic index foods with low glycemic index foods (i.e. - replacing processed carbohydrates with lean proteins and fiber). I like it because there are several cookbooks for the various phases of the diet, and all the recipes are DELICIOUS. Even if I'm not on a diet, I enjoy a lot of South Beach foods. They can be somewhat time consuming, though.

The Curves diet is somewhat similar, in that it restricts carb intake. However, it does have a daily calorie limit. There are two versions - a highter carbohydrate and a higher protein diet, and the book (simply called the "Member Guide" - available at all Curves locations) will guide you through choosing which one would be the better option for you. This is a pretty much fool-proof diet, because it tells you exactly what to eat for every meal. Also, even though it limits your calories, there is a TON of food, and you will not be hungry.

The Curves one might be a bit harder to find. If you go to www.curves.com you can find the Curves location near you. Also, there are usually lots of Curves products for sale on eBay, including the diet book. South Beach books are at every major bookstore.

south beach diet is a great diet. if you dont plan on exercising though you are doomed to failure. Diets are fine and all, but the key to keeping your weight down and keeping lean muscles is to do exercise. There are no magic diets or pills...it comes from hard work. Good luck.

weight watchers is the BEST!! I've been going since Jan. and I've lost 40#
