Do you think that many people have lost their Christian Faith after being persecuted by Spirutual Abuse (.com and forum).

Preachers who use their social position and power, both in the pulpit and in the church's gossip groups, often do so to the advantage of themselves, their families, their close friends. This is hypocracy and corruption.

Have you had such an experience?

Did you lose your Christian Faith because of this?

Had my head and mind played with not by a preacher from the pulpit but by someone who put themselves up as a leading light....led groups.......claimed to love God etc etc. Preached...but to small groups on truth etc and told many lies I fouind in the end. Yes the word hypocrite and self centred and self obsessed as in looking good....creating the impression but not living the life.

I heard a story one time (given for a lesson in humility)
it was told by a rather proud "preacher"...
I knew a man that for years had been cheating on his wife, he was always quiet and not very involved in "church life". One day he finally confessed his sins and repented. He started reading the Bible and began questioning some of the things I (the preacher) was teaching, in front of me and to others.
I t got so bad that I finally had to tell him " You've read a couple verses in the Bible and think you know it all. I liked you better when you were an adulterer; because, at least then you were humble."
end story

the whole point of this "lesson" was supposed to be that the man should have been humble. The lesson I gained from it, is that this very proud man would rather suggest the man was better as an adulterer than entertain whether or not the issues the man brought up were true. he never siad whether anything the man said was true, I'm doubtful that he even entertained the notion; because, how could he a pastor (exalted above the others, which is unscriptural) possibly be wrong and this "sinner" be right.
Th ose are exactly who (repentent sinners and the supposed unlearned) the Lord has given his knowledge to.

Mat 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.

Act 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

There is alot of this in the church today from all denominations. And it is these bad examples that stain the work of the good ones.

Remember that among the first 12 disciples, one of them was rotten. However, the others persisted, they did not give up their faith in Jesus. People today leave not because of the corruption/bad behaviour but because their faith is so weak that mistakes committed by men no matter how big or small or drive them away. That person was never born of God no matter if they said with their lips "I'm born again" Their actions spoke louder.

What could be worse that betraying Jesus Himself, yet the remaining deisciples stayed and followed His teachings. Because of them, the REAL converted Christians are continuing this work despite the lies/deceit/persecution of not only the world but the so-called 'brothers and sisters' in the faith.

God bless

No you should not lose your faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you on the cross. He died for your sins, He was buried and took your sins away and He rose again for your justification. You should stay away from corrupt preachers in churches and on TV. They are ministers of Satan and the scriptures tell us that we should mark them and avoid them. Romans 16: 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 2 Corinthians 11: 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11: 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. Study your Bible, know if they are teaching a false doctrine but never lose your faith in what the Lord Jesus Christ did for you.

Never loose your faith over people who CLAIM to be Christians. If they do not preach and follow the Bible - then they are not Christians - they may be from the CHURCH OF WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW - but they are not Christians.

One reason people leave the church they grew up in is because of those that have committed incest, etc. within the church. Yes that was one of the reasons I excused not going to church when I grew up. I still believed in God but chose to forget God.

But the main reason people leave is because of not knowing who they are in Christ. That needs to be instilled in the children. Because some of the others in the church are still sinners needing a Savior.

If a church member who commits insest doesn't repent to God for not believing in Jesus Christ and confess Jesus Christ LORD and believe in his heart the atonemnet for his sins and the Resurrection, he will go to hell. Because you must be born again. Those who are born again cannot abide in sin (make it a pleasant sinful habit) because of the Holy Seed within.

In our church person who commited incest apologized & said he wouldn't do it again, but not to God. He ended up getting his grandchild pregnant also. There was never any true repentance to God so was not truly born of God.

That sounds terrible. I'm glad I didn't have anything like that to deal with, then again when I found (or rather, was handed) religion I was too young to notice things like gossip or self-serving interests, all I saw was a happy fat man giving me bread and wine.

At the end of the day anyone who uses the name of God in vain and hurts people who are innocent faces God's judgement and wrath. i know sometimes people do that but i would not let anyone influence what i believe.
time will also tell. the Bible says you shall know them by their fruits and any preachers doin what you sed only have God to answer to.

No, I didn't lose my faith because the Bible said that this would happen and tells Christians to be firmly rooted so that we don't begin to follow those false teachers.

The hypocrisy is man's way, not God's.
