Depends on what you mean by irritable.
If you are lethargic and moody, you may need more than you're consuming. You didn't specify how many you cut down to, so I suspect it's enough- if you are becoming irritable for having to count them each day, yes, it's normal. I was really fed up with having to count ever gram of food I ate each day until I got to let go of it.

don't let anything outside of you measure your self-esteem for you!!! I learned this the hard way by recovering from anorexia. you are not your body and can't take it with you.
It's unfortunate that something as insignificant as a tape measure can have such an impact on how we feel about ourselves. DON'T LET IT!!! They cannot measure who you are! Exercise. Refuse to skip meals. Do things that make you intrinsically happy. you are the only one that can make you happy. After all, the standards your measure yourelf by should be your own.

Yes, this is very common. Drink a lot of water and/or tea (with no sugar, sweetener is ok). whenever youre irritable, eat a piece of fruit. Apples do the trick for me.

south beach diet is a great diet. if you dont plan on exercising though you are doomed to failure. Diets are fine and all, but the key to keeping your weight down and keeping lean muscles is to do exercise. There are no magic diets or pills...it comes from hard work. Good luck. Id be pissed off too if i wasnt getting some mexican food in my belly....

go for a 1 hour run in the park about 3 times a week, if u can, it would be better to do it in the morning, in about a month u`ll feel better and u`ll also look much better.
