This is one of my families favorites and it's easy.
Ingredients:
1 pot t roast or chuck roast
2 packages of dry brown gravy mix
1 bag of small baby carrots
2 onions quartered
4 potatoes cut into 4ths
2 stalks of celery cut into 1/2 inch slices

season the roast with 1 package of gravy mix and salt and pepper. Add this to the bottom of the crock pot. Add the veggies and about 2 cups of water. Put on low and cook for 10 hours. or on high for 8 hours. It will smell Delish but try not to peek. When it's done, drain out 1 cup of juice and use this to make the other package of gravy, using the juice from the roast in place of water.
Serve with rice or we like ours with biscuits. THis is a very good, easy and comforting food.
Good Luck..

Braised Pot Roast with Vegetables Recipe courtesy Tyler Florence
Show: Food 911
Episode: Back to School!

1 (3 to 4 pound) piece beef chuck roast, trimmed of excess fat
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
1 cup water
2 red onions, halved
2 garlic cloves, chopped
8 carrots, sliced
2 celery stalks, sliced
1 cup button mushrooms, stems removed
2 sprigs fresh rosemary
4 sprigs fresh thyme
2 bay leaves

Season all sides of the beef with a fair amount of salt and pepper. In a large Dutch oven or other heavy pot that has a tight cover; heat 2 tablespoons of the oil over moderately high heat. Brown the meat on all sides, taking the time to get a nice crust on the outside. Pour in the tomatoes and the water. Scatter the vegetables and herbs around the pot roast, season with salt and pepper; and drizzle with the remaining tablespoon of oil. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low. Braise for about 3 hours, basting every 30 minutes with the pan juices, until the beef is fork tender.
Slice the pot roast and arrange on platter surrounded by the vegetables. Serve with the pot juices.

Here's one. Put the roast in the cooker, place some slices of onion and maybe a little season salt on it and let it cook for several hours so it will be tender. About an hour before you are ready to serve it, peel and cut up some potatoes (and carrots if desired) and put them over in the cooker with the roast. After about an hour, they will be done and have a great flavor along with the roast.
Good luck !

My family swears by this: And it is so easy.
Brown the roast in a frying pan (both sides) season the roast with some salt, pepper and fresh garlic.
Put the roast in the slow cooker for approx 4-5 hours. Then add CANS of (2) whole potatoes, (2) whole carrots and 2 jars of whole mushrooms. Let that cook for approx 2 hours. When the roast falls off the fork it is ready.
Trust me this is delicious.

Thats my sweeties favorite dinner. I love making pot pie with the leftovers. Heres what I do...

I boneless roast
2 packets dry Lipton Onion Soup mix
1 cup water
1 cup beef broth
3 garlic cloves
salt and pepper

Cut small deep holes in the roast and stuff garlic clove pieces randomly through out. Season meat with salt and pepper. Put it in the slow cooker and dump the dry soup mix over the top. Add wet ingredients. Turn on high heat for for about 5-6 hours or until the meat is done. I still like mine slightly pink. I always serve it with mashed potatoes and pour the juice from the crock pot over the potatoes. I also serve either a tossed salad or roasted asparagus with it. yummy.

Here's an easy one!!
Hamburger Helper now makes Slow Cooker helper!! You can find it at the grocery store right next to the Hamburger Helper. Their pot roast is the bomb! All you need to add is the roast and water. I have made this several times for family and they love it.
Tip: If you are using a roast over 2 lbs, put another cup of water in over what it says to use.
