Amoxicillin is a controlled drug, used as an antibiotic in cats and humans. Only a medical doctor, dentist or veterinarian can prescribe it legally, and only a vet can do so for an animal. Your vet spent 10 years in school studying feline anatomy, diseases, interactions of various drugs, proper dosages, etc. Unless you are a vet, you are not qualified to diagnose illness and prescribe treatment. To do so would be very dangerous for your cat and quite neglectful on your part.
Take the poor animal to see a qualified physician to get proper diagnosis and treatment.

I wouldn't do it. Not only do you not know if your cat is allergic to penicillin, which could kill it, you also don't know if the infection (I imagine if you're giving it antibiotics it's because of infection) can be fought off with that. Also, antibiotics tend to lower your immune system, which could also be dangerous.
You should not self-treat your pet. Take it in to a vet; it's the best thing you can do.

Yes, all of it at one time! I'm a trained veterinarian and I dispense free medical advice on Yahoo Answers! You are very wise to ask a question like this in this forum. You'll get information that can help you prove to friends and family that you are an idiot for killing the cat. If you have any kids, be sure to pass any advice you receive here to someone you know with a brain.
Hope that helps!!
