Love is the strongest. No doubt about it, but religion gives the depth, support, balance of ups and down, positive color to it.

Love, love is a human emotion. Religion is a man made institution. Love can conquer most man made things. Emotions are the force that push us to accomplish goals. With out the will to achieve nothing would get done.

Well. Many more people have died/ been killed in the name of (whatever) religion than have ever died for love. So, if you're swayed by sheer numbers, I'd say religion has to be stronger.
I, however, am a lifelong romantic and (while I don't want to die or be killed for any reason) I totally believe in love and the power of love.
From me, love trumps religion every time.

Love for Religion

Depends what you mean by "strong..."?

Love binds us to other people in a unique way. Our natural instincts are for self-preservation, to be greedy in getting things for ourselves so we can survive, even if that's at the expense of others. Love can cause us to overcome our selfish nature, and work to support those we love, sacrifice our time, energy, material goods, etc. for those we love, even give up our own lives to protect those we love. It's very powerful to be able to overcome those natural selfish instincts.

Religion, on the other hand, can make us feel like "part of a larger group," and give us comforting thoughts to decrease our fears of death. Unfortunately, it can also feed on our selfish nature, inciting us to attack anyone who challenges our religion, who believes differently, or who isn't part of our "group." Over the history of the world, these negative aspects have far outweighed any positive aspects of religion, to the extent that hundreds of millions of humans have been killed simply because of a different belief from someone else.
Both are "strong" in that they can cause us to do things that can be against our nature...love leads to what most of us would consider positive or good traits such as self-sacrifice for others, caring for others, sharing with others...while religion most often reinforces our selfishness and instinct to survive by eliminating threats to the "group" that has become part of our extended selves through religion. Both strong, but one for good and one for bad. :(

Love is always stronger. People will go to great extremes for religion, but people will do anything for love. Most people caught between the two choose love.
