new telly is a Sony KDL-40S2030 (v.nice too!!)

As follows:
On the sky remote, press the TV button
Press the Select Button and the red button together until the led blinks twice at the top of the remote
Press the TV button again
key in 0000
the led blinks twice again
press the Select button and use the volume up or down to see if the sound changes. Done.
There is a possibility that Sony have used new codes for the TV, which means you would need to contact their customer services.

When you buy any standard tv remote you should get a list of codes to type in, in order to tune the remote in! If you have these codes what you do is press the tv button on the romote, and type in the codes/ numbers on the remote, if it works then the tv should switch of or the volume will just work!!
