Well over 100 million christians in this country believe the earth was created in 6 literal 24 hour days 6000 years ago. We are in big trouble, people. This is absolutely absurd in view of the fact we can use radiocarbon dating to measure the age of objects with good accuracy. There are literally MILLIONS of articles out there that deal with paleontology, astronomy, geology etc.. confirming the age of the earth, dinosaur fossils, etc..as WAY OVER 6000 years old.

So my question for you is:

Do you believe the Bible is the complete, inerrant word of god (earth is only 6000 years old, made in 6 days etc..) and radiocarbon dating is balderdash made up by atheists and fancy book learnin' researchers to debunk your religion? And if you do think the earth is 6000 years old, how are you able to live your life willfully ignoring volumes of factual research that conflict with your Bible?

What? You mean those volumes of factual research written by scientists. The same scientists that said the world was flat. The same scientists that said the atom could not be split. The same scientists who said we would never put a man on the moon. O.K. I believe in the Bible because I know it is true. It was inspired by a God who knows everything.

The Bible does not tell how long it took to create the earth. It only gives an outline of the creative process once the earth was created Incidentally the order of creation follows in at least 10 points the order in which scientists say things developed on earth (but I notice many scientist don't like to acknowledge this they wouldn't want to be found agreeing with anything the Bible has to say - pretty narrow-minded don't you think?). It is divided into 6 days which can be eons long each, since God's time is not governed by the sun.
Please check the most recent scientific information on carbon dating. It has been found to be far less than perfect and other methods of dating have been adopted. (You gotta keep up, if you are going to make such strong assertions)

Although you are right that well over 100 million people, calling themselves 'Christians', believe the earth was created in 6 literal 24 hour days ....they are wrong.
The word 'day' simply means a period of time.
For example, one may speak of Hitler's day.
No one would think they are speaking about a 24 hour period in his life.
It means the period during which Hitler was having his time.
So it is with the 6 creative days.
They each could have been as long as (what we call) 7,000 years ....or more.
In fact, if one reads Genesis 1:2, it says
"Now the earth proved to be formless and waste...." in other words, the basic materials for the earth were already in existence when Genesis begins.
HOWEVER, please don't put 100% trust in carbon dating.
A conference on radiocarbon chronology and other related methods of dating was held in Uppsala, Sweden, in 1969.
The discussions between chemists, archaeologists and geologists brought to light a dozen flaws that might invalidate the dates. In the years since, little has been accomplished to remedy these shortcomings.

The actual translation is ages, other then that yes I believe that God created all life in six ages spanning over a long time, God created all life, science (even with the falsehood of evolution) can not even began to explain the existence of every complex organism in the world, to say that we came from a big bang and other creatures(creation anyone) is like saying "a big explosion caused a pile of scrap metal to become a fully assambled 747 jet," such a thing would not only be impossible but stupid to assume, creation needs a creator (just a building needs a builder, a painting needs a painter, etc.)

Evolution says that life began with the simplest forms. It took over a billion years just to evolve algae and another billion years for living things to have more than one cell. It took half a billion years of slow development to generate today's creatures. And evolution says that this story comes from the fossil record.

What most people do not know is that there is no such story in the fossil record. When using the fossil record, greater faith is required to believe in evolution than to believe the revelation of God

i suggest that you research the process of carbon dating. Even its inventor admits that it is seriously flawed and the results are completely erroneous. LIVING tissue has been dated to be hundreds of thousands of years old and there have been some obviously old fossils that were dated to be only hundreds of years old.
I find it nearly comical that those who claim to believe in 'science' to ignore much of what is learned.
Science, by definition, is OBSERVATION.
'Old Earth" theories and evolution have HUGE gaps in them and are hardly complete answers, either.
I will give two (of thousands) examples:
1. Dust from space is both constant and measurable. If the Earth was as old as often claimed, the moon would have hundreds of meters of dust over the entire surface and not the few inches we found, and our own planet would have sludgy mud bogs instead of oceans and lakes.
2. Polystrate fossils. Fossils that pass through the, claimed, strata that signify
the differing eras of time. Quite frankly there exists a scientific and plausable argument for EVERY argument that the 'old earth', evolutionists have. They just are not published because if they were, it would be harder to convince those ignorant to take their side. Conspiracy? no, just common politics.

How comes that no other faith in the world comes under so
much scrutiny, it always seems to be the bible. Can't people be left o make up their own mends. Without having things dissected all the time. I really believe in each to their own. Everybody needs something or someone to believe in. Scientists are to keen to tell us that we are wrong to believe in God,and that this could not have happened. So what who cares leave us alone we are human beings and quite capable of Ming our own decisions thank you scientists.

Well, actually, a lot of us christians think that God created time, therefore, a day to us was not necessarily a day to Him. But hey, you're just here to insult christians, so go for it, go praise your big bang from nothingness, that's just so flamin logical. You'd think with all that book learnin you intelligent people have, you could have come up with something a bit more rational than that.

There are awful lot of christian scientist that believe the Bible is real... I don't think radiocarbon dating is very accurate... It can be speed up by heat. So as you can see it's not perfect...

No I think we were suppose to find this stuff out, because I believe God wants us to believe in him by our own will power. To test us on our faith before Jesus comes back, and Judges us. Jesus said people will be very wise, but foolish because they know my name, but they do not believe before the days of Judgment day. Scientist are very smart, but do not believe in God.
