I am wanting to dye my hair where it's darker on bottom and lighter on top. I am going to go to the salon to get it done and I'm trying to figure out the best way to describe this to my stylist. I know there is probaly a term for it but I can't find it. Also I want her to blend it so it gradually gets lighter so it's not such a big contrast. So does anyone know what it's techincally called or a place to find pictures I can show her?

Oh I got this done! I showed my stylist pictures AND explained what I wanted. Do you know who Ashley Tisdale is? She has/had the hair that I think you want. See if you can get some pictures of her. Even if you just explain to your stylist what you want done, she will probably understand.

What about highlights ( light color) and low lights (dark color) or you can just explain that you want it darker on the bottom and lighter on the top...they will know what you mean, that's their job to know what you mean.
