Usually if you have gastritis or an ulcer you could have these symptom. They may also accompany gallbladder problems. Lay off of the fast and fatty foods and see if that makes a difference. You need to see a doctor real soon. Godloveya.

Sounds like heartburn. Stomach juice/acid bubbles up into your esophagus and this is causing the pain. If this is going on for longer then t can start damaging the tissue of the esophagus and the pain gets even stronger.

There is a lot of over the counter medication available to fight the symptoms. Or your doc can prescribe you something even more efficient.

However - a good idea may also be to look into fighting what caused it and not just the symptoms. It could be the kind of foods you are eating/drinking, it could be genetically, it could be a bacterium sitting in your stomach linings (helicobacter), stress, a lot of possible reasons.

The other common thing which can cause those symptoms (the however they would not change with meals) are back issues, weak muscles in the back, old injuries etc. This can cause the ribs to compress in the chest area.

And then very common too - is a kind of regular flatulence. You have gas in your intestines and they inflate so much that they press on the nerve area which produces the same kind of pain like when the heart has a problem. It is a symptom more common among men than women, I forgot the name of it right now. But also this may not be affected by food intake.

It probably is an ulcer. Or gas, or acid reflux.
