It's got to be the human desire to destroy and sully all things, the need to change and manipulate the things around us. So in a way the answer is yes.

You answered your own question. IT IS! "The corruptability factor." Also people ALWAYS want what they can't have or what they feel they can't or shouldn't have. It's in our nature to go against norms, corrupt whats pure, e.t.c
