Why are people so against stem cell research in general, its not all done with embryo's ... I can understand being against that but the other ways????

To the person below me, one other way is with the umbilical cord of a newly born baby. The bit that noramlly gets thrown away, no harm comes to anyone with that method of research!

If I had the money to raise a child, sure. I"d love to have a child, even if the child was meant for someone else. If it means that kid can live, then yes.

I"m also against embryonic stem cell research. I'm for imbilical cord research.

sure, I oppose it to boot. the reason i imagine is because public help and utilizing public money calls for public action. and then there is the "slippery slope" that all started with birth control, then abortion, then manipulations like "in vitro", cloning and some thing concerning destruction of embryos. So in that experience, preventing at abortion aids in preventing different unethical practices. you also could comprehend, there is information excited by information the technique. So scientists and church leaders have a particular criminal responsibility to protest. And my church leaders like bishops do protest the practices you reported. it will be magnificent to take heed to extra in spite of the actuality that. yet you gained't see the advice contained in the documents very a lot which keeps consciences uninformed. And who is going to protest in the journey that they imagine of it as a thanks to have children and keep lives. It sounds constructive. wish that facilitates.

...Embryonic stem cell research has shown no promise for treating/curing illnesses, and there is only so much money available for research - why not give it to areas that have shown promise - stem cell research (non-embryonic)?
