Both seem to spread things around, so which is better to do first. I use a seperate tongue cleaner, but I'm guessing most people use their toothbrush to clean their tongue. The only thing I could find on wikipedia on this is:

thanks

A VERY GOOD THING TO DO IS THINK ABOUT THE ORDER OF HOW THINGS HAPPEN:

1.FIRST, YOU BRUSH - REMOVING MOST OF THE BACTERIA FROM THE GUMS AND TEETH.

2.SECOND, YOU SCRAPE THE TONGUE WHICH IS FULL OF BACTERIA. BRUSHING THE TONGUE ONLY PUSHED THE BACTERIA FROM SIDE TO SIDE..

3.THIRD, FLOSS TO REMOVE THE FOOD/BACTERIA BETWEEN YOUR TEETH.

4.FOURTH, RINSE W/LISTERINE OR CREST PRO-HEALTH.

AND THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

if you use a tongue-scraper it doesn't matter what do you do first. Brush, scrape, floss, rinse or Scrape, floss, brush, rinse.. as long as you rinse last and do it at least twice a day
