no, I think that it only takes away from the students originality and dosen't allow them to express themselves.

ONLY to a certain degree. Now a days a lot of the kids are wearing pajama's to school walking around in general. No pajama's were made for bed wear. You want to wear them around the streets, OK fine. BUT NOT in school. Another item is the wangsters as I will call them. The wanna be gangster ones. They have come up with a shirt at least here in the New Bedford, MA area. This shirt says STOP SNITCHING. Stuff like this. The shirt comes across as threatening. But other than stuff like this NO there should not be a dress code. BUT in like the above mentioned instances then yes there should be some limitations on what they can and cannot wear to school. And this chit with kids wearing their pants down around their knees. This is so stupid. This shouldn't be allowed either.

Both yes and no.
Yes. because of some of the stupid crap that kids wear these days like jeans hanging off your as* and things that make otherwise nice girls looks like a brats doll (Oh the irony in that is immeasurable.)
and No, because I believe in allowing a kid to express themselves and show who they are becoming by who they are right now, it is a right of passage.
It does however set up a class struggle and causes some kids to be singled out and teased often mercilessly: The one's that least deserve it too, because it is not their fault that their parents can't afford expensive things.
It either sets up a lifetime of insecurity or makes them stronger and I have never been one to allow popular opinion to gage my likes and dislikes or decide my personal feelings on anything and I teach my children the same but... Not everyone is lucky enough to have learned that lesson in life let alone at such a young age. It is a lot to ask of a child... so sometimes I think that a dress code would take care of that? Things do have their way of rearing their ugly heads anyway though...
Kids are the meanest things in human society...

Yes because there are people who will always be extreme, and dressing inappropriately is just a distraction. Being fashionable is fine, but once the warm weather comes and people go nutsy with the revealing clothes, it becomes a mess.

Yes I do, and for the following reason,s. People are in school for an education, not a fashion show. Girl,s who wear next to nothing are distracting, as are boy.s who pants are falling of the rump,s. when everybody has to wear the same clothe,s there are fewer distractions. also, in the "REAL WORLD" everybody has to wear a uniform.
