I started experiencing brief bouts (lasting three minutes) of vertigo. I experience these bouts sometimes once a week and other times two or three times a week. Recently as well I have been hearing a high pitched ringing in my ear or head that seems to come from the left side of the back of my head.

My mother had these same symptoms, and they were caused by an anti-depressant. If you are on blood pressure meds, this could be the source, also. At any rate, you should check with your doctor, as we cannot diagnose you over the internet, even if we were doctors!
Good Luck.

well it wouldn't hurt to go see an "ear, nose, and throat" doctor. also check if you have allergies; sometimes that can clog up the sinus system and make you dizzy. vertigo is no joke, but don't let anyone mis-diagnose you either, because it's also a very tricky area, hard to diagnose--get more than one opinion.
