I suspect this will be one of the posts that gets a fair few thumbs down - because watersports / golden showers is NOT everyones cup of tea (!) and I suspect some of the more "hardline" religious folks will have a real problem with it. As the rest of this post hopefully shows, this is more about mental attitude than any real issues. Read on folks **if** you have an open mind :-

A lot more folks enjoy this than tend to admit it in "polite society". with a little common sense, there is no real danger here.

1. People who enjoy golden showers / watersports should get their Hepatitis B jabs - same goes for folks who enjoy rimming. Hep B is easy to prevent but impossible to get rid of. A jab (course of 3 actually) is good for 10 years.

2. Unless someone has an infection, then urine is in fact sterile - and will do no harm if sprayed over someone - even if they choose to drink it. It may or may not "be your thing" but urine is not toxic.

3. A slight qualification to point 2 - if you drink LARGE amounts of fairly strong urine, then you do give you kidneys a great deal of extra work - not a good idea. If you are into drinking then either make sure the urine is very mild (almost colourless) and/or refrain from drinking more than perhaps 1 pint in 24 hours.

4. Many people - Ghandi being one - practice(d) urine therapy which involves drinking usually the first "pi** of the day" - I am unaware of it EVER harming ANYONE.

5. Drink plenty of water as well as urine - make sure your kidneys do not have to deal with too much salt / urea etc.

6. Try to avoid it getting the eyes - although urine is almost always sterile, it will still sting like a bìtch.

7. Urine is ***NOT*** an issue with HIV but **IS** an issue with Hep B (hence get inoculated). Yes urine can contain blood if someone has a kidney problems but the reality is that there is not a SINGLE case on file yet of someone contracting HIV from watersports.

8. Common sense things - fresh urine does not usually smell much, stale urine is grim - keep in mind that if you are playing indoors, you might wish you had covered the sofa with a PVC sheet first :) Other folks put paddling pools in the room - play in them and then take them outside to empty.

As the majority of responses here indicate, involvement in Golden Showers is not really a common practice, but as MarkT also said...probably a lot more ppl involved in some manner than you would guess. Once you get past the social taboo of Golden Showers, there are a variety of ways this fetish can be enjoyed. See http://www.rotten.com/library/sex/watersports/ for some interesting info on the topic.

never done it myself...

the only advice i could think of, would be to make sure both people are comfortable with this, and that you do it in a place that'll be easy to clean up, or maybe take a shower together, and do it in there...
