Protein should not be in the urine. There are several reasons that protein can show up in the urine. Usually the molecule is too large to be excreted by the kidneys. Your doctor needs to be the one to answer this. If he is unable to, get a second opinion. Best wishes and take care.

I always thought protein in the urine was due to diabetes. But I'd sure check with the doctor!
