Me and my husband are fed up living in the uk, you work all month and after you have payed your bills i.e..mortgage,council tax.water rates, water etc..etc...we have nothing to live on and getting into debt as a reasult.

We are fed up with the goverment finding ways constantly to tax us for something else, the cost of living here is just to high for alot of hard working families.

Well getting to the point if we were to move country, where do you think we would be better off for our hard work?
My husband has a skill..he is a plumber and what would you need to have to do to live in that country?

for places like new zealand you need to be able to prove you can support yourself and be finacially wealthy to take care of every one in your household for about two yearsish, plus you need to be able to prove you are going top contribute to their economy, for example your husband is a plumber so if you wanted to move to new zealand you would need to look at the demand for plumbers, if their is a high demand you maybe approved, however if their is no demand for a plumber then your application maybe rejected...

those are the basic requirements anyways...

this is a good site to get you started and having your rights and facts before you leave....

A plumber is one of our higher- paid skilled workers, here in the U.S.
Don't listen to "Steve c"....taxes here are much lower than in Europe, but you will lose some of the benefits you now enjoy. Such as free health care, and a free higher education.
At one time, the company you worked for would provide health insurance. But more and more companies no longer do so, or force you to pay a certain amount per month, depending on the size of your family.
I no longer remember the steps you need to take to come to the U.S., but I'm sure the US embassy there could provide you with all the information you need.

Try New Zealand, but you will still pay taxes, why dont you get your husband to look at registering as a sole trader, take a course in Tax and what he can claim, and then start being positive about being (in the UK?) Ireland is also beautiful as is the South of France. But happiness must come from inside, and you need to take control of circumstance, don't let it control you. Utopia is about food, family and friends, not where you live.

go to turkey

sell your house in uk, buy 2 or 3 in turkey in a complex with the money from yours

live in 1 and rent the other 2 out, this generates your income

your hubby will get a plumbing job no problem, you get a job in the complex cleaning houses or acting as an agent to other people that let out there houses,( making sure that they are cleaned etc b4 new tenants come in etc)

you dont need any thing to move there as i think they are in the EU now so you can just pack up and go

edit:
i dont think they are in EU just as yet, but this is why house prices etc are so low when they get full membership prices will rocket,

Most U.K. skilled trades people seem to be emigrating to New Zealand as there are still a lot of scope there for advancement, and not too much tax to pay. I know of several couples who have moved there and non of them have regretted it.

Those who can leave, so I don't blame you leaving this crap hole. Australia or New Zealand sound good. I have worked overseas, but unless you have the language skills life can be hard.

Frankly you can go anywhere that will have you - certainly your sort of attitude is not wanted here.

"Here", my dear, is Britain. One of the wealthiest countries in the world, with comparatively low rates of taxation compared with elsewhere in Europe. A country also that has a sound economy, full employment, a free press, a vibrant arts culture and long traditions of decency and fair play. I'm proud of my country and don't like to see the ignorant wingeing that you are indulging in.
.

If you can't hack it here I doubt that you will hack it anywhere but do please try - on your bike - and GOOD RIDDANCE !

Maybe the U.S.Your husband wouldn't make any money in Mexico. They still crap in the bushes.

On second thought, the U.S probably is not much better. The tax-n-spend democrats are out of control.
