is there any gravy thats available from a typical supermarket that is as good as home made. i dont mind making the effort to make homemade gravy. but when cooking a full meal with so many other dishes it is almost impossible to have the time. i used heinz gravy last year and it was ok but not nearly as good as i would have liked. any suggestions will be appreciated. thank you all.

If you're making a turkey already, why not make the gravy? It's no extra trouble and you have to do something to the pan drippings anyway. Take the drippings, add some sage, rosemary and thyme. Add 1 cup white wine Put 3 tbsp cornstarch into 1/2 cup cold water Put pan of drippings and herbs over medium heat until simmering (about 10 minutes) add water and cornstarch, heat and serve.

I'm with you there is nothing better than making homemade gravy...the heinz gravy in the jar is the best that I have tasted...but I usually make the homemade...it doesn't take long to make and your end results are always worth it...

I was at Sam's Club the other day and saw a gravy in the meat section that looked interesting. I haven't tried it, but I may use it this year for my dinner. Sorry that I don't have more info, but it's worth a try.

Williams and Sonoma has a decent jarred gravy. I think you can only get it via mail order or their store
You mix it with either milk or broth

I dont know where you live but we have the cafeteria style restaurants here, like picadilly, morrissons, and places like that. They sell turkey gravy that you can go and buy. Its pretty cheap, and homemade for you!! Just call a restaurant around your home and ask them. You should be able to buy it frozen, or hot and ready to go. good luck.

I like Boston Market in the jar, far better than Heinz.

Franco American is not too bad either. But nothing beats home made gravy.

I use the turky gravy packets (like McCormick). It just tastes better than Heinze, I think.
