I think God has made sure that evil does not dominate the planet, and when people have truly worshipped Him (like most of the founding fathers) he has helped them

righteous causes have been helped by God when the people truly put faith in Him

Sometimes, yes. It depends on what is at stake. The American Revolution was prophecied in the Book of Mormon stating that the American pioneers were supported by the Holy Ghost in their conflict with the mother countries. There are times in the Old Testament where God intervened to save Israel. Generally, God allows the wicked to demonstrate their wickedness in whatever form of conflict or contention they devise in order for their judgment to be perfected against them and leave them without excuse in the last day. The righteous that suffer at the hands of the wicked will be received by God with welcoming arms into a time of rest. Thus, justice is served in the end tally even though it may not seem that way here on earth.
God advances His purposes in His own due time. If that means intervening in conflicts to protect the righteous and punish the wicked, then He can do that. He doesn't interfere with our agency but He does protect those that He needs to preserve for a future purpose.

He has, and He does. But not usually. Just when His interests get involved. Several incidents during the Revolutionary War indicated that God had a hand in the creation of the US. Virtually every war that Israel has found itself embroiled in has ended in their favor because of God's direct intervention. There are probably other incidents, but those are the ones I know about.

If you read the prophets, particularly Ezekiel, Jeremiah, and Daniel, God uses nations to accomplish his purposes. He used Babylon to punish Israel. Nebuchadnezzar was the leader of Babylon.

8 “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, ‘Because you have not obeyed My words,
9 behold, I will asend and take all the families of the north,’ declares the Lord, ‘and I will send to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land and against its inhabitants and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them and make them a horror and a hissing, and an everlasting desolation.

He also used Medo/Persia to punish Babylon. Read Daniel 5.

He uses nations to punish other nations. The leaders, it seems, are unaware of their being used, and pride is always condemned, so if a country says God is using us to punish whatever other nation, this would not be right.

God only takes His side, God does not take sides in the foolish ways of man, read the Bible and you will see His views.

Religion has no business in the world of political affairs.
Religion only clouds the truth.
Religion is a man made effort.
And god does not exist.

I don't believe so. I do believe we are put here, given the free will to make choices and than we have to live with the results.
