I am a pediatric nurse so hopefully this will help. It is true that the majority of men USED to be circumsized, now it is only 10% of babies, mostly due to religious reasons. My 7 month old son is NOT circumsized but my husband is. The older they get when they are circ'd, the more problems that can occur such as hemmorhaging and traumatic memories. I have seen that often. Older children are usually circ'd only if there is a problem. Do NOT do it for esthetic reasons, if he wants it done when he's older, let him make that decision.

Personally, IF I ever get to have a baby boy, I would get him circumsized. I just think that it's right. However, if you have already gone 2 years, then I would personally leave it alone. I imagine the pain of that, especially in an older child would be rather disturbing. Just do what you think is right, and ask your doctor the pros and cons of circumcision when the boy is 2 years old. He will tell you and then you will know.

Circumcision is obviously a personal choice however I do believe he is a little old to now decide to take this action. My husband is not circumcised and he is completely content with this fact. My 2 year old son is also uncircumcised and does a good job at keeping it clean. If it does get red at all then just use neosporin, and it will clear right up.There is no real legitimate disadvantage to having an uncircumcised penis. It does not effect the size, and if the child is taught to properly clean himself then it will not present a problem.

Well, doctors like to do it when they are born so that is doesn't hurt them. But I would advise to have it done. You seen, uncircumsized people may run into infections later in life ( Hard area to clean, soap residue builds up under the skin, dirt, etc.). Also the foreskin may become too tight as cause discomfort. ( Happened to my ex-bf) There are men out there that are older whose doctors are performing circumsisions because of these problems, and they men are in great pain!!! The younger THE BETTER!!!

Unfortunately, in American the vast majority of men are. I don't think it is a good idea to change the way God made you, but I still had my two sons done because the last thing a guy needs when growing up is to be different down there when in the locker room. At 2 though, i doubt I would do it.

I think, at this point in time, you shouldn't do anything because it will be very painful for your son. If, when he gets older, he wants to have it done, so be it. But there is nothing wrong with your son he is a perfectly normal boy, leave well enough alone. Let him make the decision himself, this way there will be no resentment.

you said a mouthful when you said it is a personal decision but it is also a decision that has to be made with the concerns of both of the parents...i myself am uncircumcised and enjoy the protection the foreskin offers although some would say otherwise
also you two need to consult a pediatrician on this matter also

Have you ever watched Nip/tuck on there the teenage boy did get circumsized and his parents wouldn't let him so he found a site on the net and did it himselve and not a good job, so the sooner the better.

It is a personal decision, his personal decision. When he becomes "aware" or around adolescents let him know it's an option for him, but don't encourage him either way, I feel that in the end he will thank you for letting him make the choice. Your husband can't hate it that much or he would have gotten it removed.

Do you Know that 9 men out of 10 hasn't circumcised. People like muslims do so because of their religious faith. you don't have to do that to your son unless a doctor decide to do so if your son has urinate problems.
hope this will help
