Kittens are very playful and somewhat agressive. Even if you have your kittens neutered, they'll stay very playful. After a year, they will calm down, I believe.

variety a million, how did you introduce the cats? Did you have them seperated by utilising a door, one in a diverse room for a week or greater? If no longer this is the place the subject lies. Getting the greater youthful male neutered would desire to help the placement. An previous time trick would additionally help. when you carry the cat back from the vet take a sparkling towel and rub it everywhere in the older cat, then the greater youthful cat and then the older cat back. What this dose is it mixes up the two their scents and would help them different than one yet another greater actual. Older cats, are often affected in a neg way by utilising carry residing house a sparkling kitten, particularly in the event that they don't seem to be presented properly. Older cats do no longer play as much as kittens do. To a kitten each and every thing is new and needs to be regarded at and or attacked. An older cat except it relatively is used to having kittens around would substitute into very agressive in the direction of the kitten. yet another pointer, ascertain you pay some greater suitable interest to the older cat. all human beings needs to play, carry and puppy a kitten and that i'm specific your older cat is feeling some what jealous of the attention the recent kitten is getting. stable success.

Six months old male kittens are the naughtiest and most playful age! They calm down after they turn 1 year old anyway. Neutering doesn't make them lazy, just greedy for food. They are still playful. But eventually they will be nice and calm. Neutering does help a lot during mating seasons!! Because if they are not neutered, later they will not calm down when it is mating season!
Also, be careful, after the surgery, you must start feeding the cats special food for neutered males, that prevents struvite crystals formation in the urine. Neutered males have the tendency to get crystals and they block and can die if not treated very soon. If you ever see them straining and not peeing, or peeing in strange places, take them to the vet immediately. You must remember that for the rest of their life, but it doesn't mean that it will necesarily happen.

My kitten calmed down some after he got neutered at 5 1/2 mths. Still very playful, but the big difference was he was less aggressive in how he played with our older cat- for the first few months he was definitely out to prove himself, but after the surgery he played nicer.
The big change in his hyper-ness was at about 1 year old- he is more laid back now as an adult kitty. Not lazy, just laid back. Good for you getting them fixed!

you know, when I had my girl kitten fixed, she became fat and lazy (lord forbid she actually have to get up and play).
But about one month ago i had my male 6 mth old kitten fixed. its strange. there are some days that he is completely lazy. he will sit down or stretch out and just stare into space or just sleep all day. but then there are some days that its half sleep and half running around the house at top speed. his personality has not changed. just sleeps more than he did at first.
so in answer, he's half calmed down.....

I had cat's for 19 years and when you get them fix. Some calm down some dont. Really depends on the cat. But it will help them to not spray or not to run off. And it really helps with age. And thank you for being a responsable pet owner and fixing your kitens. We need more pepole like you in the world. I'm also getting my kitten fixed.

Six months is the perfect age to settle them in with neutering. AFTER 6 months it might or might not help.
Do play with them regularly so they dont have oodles of extra energy. At least 20 to 30 minutes per day of playtime keeps them happy and calm.
Well most of 'em. Worked for me so I do hope this works for you.
Let us know.

it will reduce hormonal tensoin which your cats are too young to be demonstrating anyhow
typically cats settle down more as they age, however I dont want to take away from the importance of spaying or neutering which is one of the most important steps in pet ownership
kittens are naturally more hyper... by neutering at least they wont start peeing all over your house to mark territory.. they probably wont settle for sleeping till 1 year of age.. cats by nature are nocternal (better hunting at night) so playing with them in the day or before bed will help

Definitely! It's the right time to get them neutered or spayed. But remember at 6 months, they're still young and playful.

It will probably calm him down- it did mine. He still plays and stuff, he's just more laid back than before. My male was fine straight home from the vet while my female needed a day or so to recup. Good for you for getting him fixed. He won't be as likely to run off and get lost. Good luck!
