Write them down! N = sandwich, S = salad, M = milk.

N = S + M
N = 3M
S = $0.20 + 2M
from the first two, we know that S = 2M because if you subtract 1 M from each of the first two you get N - M = S and N - M = 2M

Since the last statement says that the salad is $0.20 MORE than 2M, it contradicts itself.
