Store 2 batteries for shooting pictures better
makes the camera better to hold?

Any other uses or advantages?

I asked can someone tell me what are the uses of "battery grip" , other then the ones i have listed up there.
If you dont know what a battery grip is then i can explain it better

As you mentioned
* adds battery life
* gives you more grip (in portrait orientation)
and also
* adds weight, which stabilizes the camera
* adds a shutter button for portrait orientation
* can take AA batteries
* makes you look like a pro ;-)
With my previous camera, I bought a battery grip simply for the ability to use AA batteries. This was specifically for a trip where I couldn't recharge for a week. The battery grip and a few packs of AA´s was cheaper than buying 2 extra Nikon batteries (or a solar panel).

They make spiffy paperweights when you're not out shooting pictures!
