Why do so many non-Christians dispel all of Christianity, because some Christians may be overzealous or too judgemental ??

I'm really wondering the 'logic' behind this stand.

I'll wait for and respect your answers, but I'd like to leave you with one last thought. . ... ... . .Christians are people. . .. .. People make mistakes. Thank you.

I don't think there's any logic behind this stand. Non-Christians are people, too. When overzealous or judgmental questions appear on this site, their reactions vary. If some of those reactions are overzealous or judgmental, well, people make mistakes.

The logic is actually quite simple. Consider a teenager who joins a street gang. This teenager may (to his mind) have the purest (protecting his neighborhood) of intentions. He has never harmed anyone and has no intention of doing so. Other members of his gang have and he is aware they will continue to do so in the future. Nobody could argue that he doesn't share some responsibility for the actions of his fellow gang members. And, that responsibility increases exponentially when he recruits others into the gang.

In short, until all christians take responsibility for those lunatics, frauds and criminals within their own "gang," they and their fraudulent philosophy will and should be painted with the same brush.

This is a great and insightful, (as well as an inciteful) question. I dispel more than Christianity, I dispel all religion, unless one's belief in one's self can be labeled a religion.
MY logic, quite simply is that religion is based on blind faith, and religious teachings (as found in a bible or other religion's reference book) are unproven theory and speculation.
Religion is a crutch for weak minded people. There is a reason that "clergy" are referred to as the pastor (meaning shepherd) and the congregation as his flock (sheep......followers). A herd of people being led around and sheared financially each week, and needing to be told how to live their lives, based on guilt trips and mind control, because they can't decide for themselves the difference between good and bad and right and wrong. And how many of those religious leaders in whom so many people put their trust and faith have proven they are worthy? Surely not the pedophile priests, or Jimmy Swaggart, or Jesse Jackson, or Mr. Haggard, or Ernest Angly.........
Religion is balderdash--pure fiction.

I only say that I simply don't like the divisiveness that religion creates, nor do I care for the attitude of superiority carried by many religious people. Often times the only reason I take shots at Christians,Muslims or whatever is because of their effort to control my life or their attitude that I'm somehow less important because I don't subscribe to their myths. I don't want a completely godless world so to speak its just that I've seen what happens when either side is taken to extremes in history and so maybe I sometimes like it when the extremists on either side are ridiculed or attacked, and I think it's a good thing to ridicule or attack the extremists on either the ultra religious or non religious side, these people need to be marginalized by the 85% of the population in the middle. That way maybe we can avoid having to pay the price for the actions of say a good Christian boy like Adolf.

Excellent question. there are good and bad people in every religion or creed and the entire population from that religion should not be judged by the sins of the few. It's not just Christianity that gets it. Most muslims are peace loving and very gracious people, but their fundamantalists are the ones that get noticed and some will base their judgment on that minority. My doctor who's a muslim volunteers as a free doctor in war zones rescuing and treating injured Christians, Muslems, and Jews. Most of his patients, from all religions, keep in touch with him. Humanity comes in many colors and evil can be cloaked as rightous. We must look beyond labels to find goodness or we'll be fooled.

Some Christians think they are to force "religion" down a non-believer's throat in the hopes of saving them. That turns people off and I don't blame them. Christians are to show the character of God. Jesus never forced His truth on anyone. You either accept it or you don't. And Christians should not judge others, but Christians are people, remember, and yes, we make mistakes; however, the real difference between non-Christians and Christians is that Christians are forgiven! Most Christians don't go any farther than salvation and don't realize that God wants to transform them into His likeness. They just either don't understand this or don't want to change. No wonder non-Christians are turned off. I used to be, too, but somehow Jesus saw me and rescued me from all the confusion!

When I was a christian I thought this a lot too. Now that I'm an athiest, I can see from "the other side" that a lot of, at least atheists, don't do it. I don't lump all "christians" into one big wad of people.

I think it's a common human tendancy to do this with any group however. "Those liberals" or "those conservatives" running this or that political party...blah blah blah. But the truth is, christians are very diverse.

I protested the Iraq war last weekend. Standing next to me was a wonderful christian woman. Very involved in her church, holding up a "Who Would Jesus Bomb" sign. Across the street was a man holding a red, white and blue cross screaming at us to "shove that sign up your ash."

I don't reject christianity because of christians. I reject it because of what christianity teaches. And so does every non-christian I personally know.

Good point. A Christian's standard should be the Bible. The Bible is very clear, but most "Christians" haven't actually read it-hence the confusion. Religion is different than true Christianity. Religion is man-made and therefore inherently evil.
And yes, Christians, even the real ones, make mistakes. You should never follow a man, only Jesus. Go to the source, the Bible, and see if what they say is true.

you may't do it. Judaism would not artwork that way. i will imagine you've had a thoroughly secular upbringing? Your pal needs an orthodox rabbi who will comply with prepare her. The coaching will take a minimum of one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, extra probable lots extra, on the great of which she will want to be examined through a Beit Din to ensure that her factor of understanding and documents is ideal. no matter if that's, she will bypass to the mikvah to finish her conversion. It feels like she will be somewhat youthful to be conidered a candidate for conversion only yet. this isn't undertaken gently, not because we are elitist yet because to carry one into Judaism and for this reason the covenant without complete information would reason the convert to do a lot incorrect; and the Rabbi, having presented the guy less than the covenant, is then both or extra so incorrect through having led the guy right into a 'contract' , in step with say, that they could't keep.

In the world there are so many Christians compared to orther religion. The christianity religion is the dominated religion in the world. You may be misled by the criticism from other religion and believe that christians are overzealous, it is not actually true that although there is no superbeing who do not make mistakes in the world. Orther relgion may critercise christianity because they recieve harming criticism from christians which might disrupt their religion. Christians do mistakes like all orther beings not that they are christians and they do not make mistakes.
