Science Diet would be to blame
its over priced for its quality - there are several forumlas out there all use different ingrediets but here is one example
these are the top ingredients in one of their fomulas of kitten food
Chicken By-Product Meal, Ground Whole Grain Corn, Animal Fat (preserved with mixed tocopherols and citric acid), Corn Gluten Meal, Brewers Rice, Chicken Liver Flavor, Fish Oil, Flaxseed, Dried Egg Product, Potassium Chloride, Soybean Mill Run,
ok by-products are BEAKS FEET FEATHERS - so you are paying for something that isnt really digestable.. PLUS by-products are preserved with a chemical pesticide known as ETHOXYQUIN which is linked to MANY health problems
corn.. is listed second.. cats can not digest corn very well so obviosly it will cause gas.. OMG corn again as 4th.. hmm where is the meat??????rice is ok... FLAVOR???? that they heck is flavor??? SOY??? and so on.....
you are paying WAY too much for this CRAPPY food because they have a clever marketing system - SCIENCE DIET PAID FOR VET ENDORSEMENT.. they PAY for vets to sell and promote this crappy food..
(vets typically receive little or no training on food ingreints and brands)
anyhow.. ok so that is your problem
no.. a better food, since I dont know where you live - in Canada - NUTRAM or ACANA
in USA - FELIDAE or even NUTRO NATURAL CHOICE (not the best but better than Science Diet)
YUCCA is an ingredient to control odor
the cat is farting so much becuase the food is harder on her digestive system...

Change kitties diet, although passing gas in some cases can be a sign of more serious problems down the road, the most common problem is that the food is formenting in the kitties stomach causing gas problems.

For the same reason everyone else does. To expel excess gas from the digestive system. Try switching food brands.

See the above. We all react to our diet. Stimpy is looking over my shoulder again.
