Load up on L-lysine. You may get a headache from it but it will help. It works by preventing the virus from further attaching to your skin. taking this once a day may also help for preventative measures. Now to get rid of it right away, abreeva is expensive but it works much faster than other OTCs. I would suggest doing these things, and then using some make-up to cover up the appearance.

Abrevia does work. Any salve seems to help.
Preventing cold sores with a good balanced diet and activities. Use sun block and moisturizers. And feel good about yourself ... this reduces stress and helps your immune system recover and keeps things like cold sores from occuring.
Smile. We all have cold sores and other problems, but if we smile and enjoy life, problems seem easier to manage and sometimes take care of themselves. Instead of kissing, you may want to give hugs out for a day or two.

Cold sores aren't like pimples...you can't just make them pop and go away. Cold sores are caused by a type of simplex virus carried by well over two thirds of the American population (though not everyone expresses the virus). Carmex lip balm is probably one of the best inexpensive treatments. Oragel can numb it down (which will make you less likely to bite at it and further cause inflammation). Abreva is specifically made to treat cold sores, but it doesn't make them go away much faster than natural healing time and is rather pricey.

Go to any store and buy carmex it's for cold sores.Hold off on your make up in till tomorrow before the party . Trust me it will be gone. If your cold sore it's not completely gone before the party just put on a little bit of make up use a dark lip liner not to dark fill in the middle with a touch of gloss or light lip stick . You will be amaze with the results .Good luck

If you must wear make up today go head .But try not to put cover up around the cold sore . ( party hardy but don't drink and drive.)

Put toothpaste or coffee on it and leave it on as long as possible (all day if you can). This dries it out and it should disappear quicker that it would otherwise. However, this is not as effective as the medicine (such as Zoviraz) that is applied before the cold sore appears.

it's too late for your party. you're screwed.
but the abriva stuff works but I take "L-Lysine" as soon as I notice
the tingling sensation and that cuts it short REAL FAST.
But you HAVE to take that lysine stuff RIGHT AWAY !

Dosage: about a half a gram per 3 lbs of body weight. (yes, thats a lot!!)

once you have the sore, you can take the lysine and it'll help but the sore will take time to heal.
