Go to Control Panel then Sound and Audio Devices. Go to the Sounds tab and you want the Start Windows sound (near the bottom).

Hi,

The sound is controlled from the control panel. Click on sounds and multimedia and for "Start Windows" in the list. You can change or remove sound from there.

Hi,
Click on "start " on the desktop & then select "Settings" & then " Control panel". Double click on "sounds". In the Windows directory, highlight " start windows", then in the pull down menu in the sound category, select "none" & then "apply" at the bottom most right hand corner..Hope this helps.
