I would never tell someone to use ice cream for an abcess. This could actually worsten the condition. Ice cream contains sugars that bacteria love and can thrive on. I would suggest, using either a regular icepak or a bag of frozen veggies.

No ice creams will not help to reduce the abscess swelling...Presence of abscess indicates ongoing infection and inflammation which can be resolved only with antibiotics...

sorry dude, you gotta see the dentist. You probably will need a root-canal and THAT will help you with your abscess
