A good practice is to keep the vehicle well maintained with regular servicing to obtain maximum efficiency. What worse than having an inefficient engine with fouled spark plugs. . See that the air filter and the fuel filter are clean. Use new filters if required. If engine is not maintained properly it will increase fuel consumption by 10 to 20 percent. A clogged air filter increases 10 percent of fuel consumption. One remedy is that use new oxygen sensor this improves gas mileage by almost 15 percent.
While going on a long drive try to keep the windows close since open windows increases resistance to wind flow that increases fuel consumption by as much as 20%.
Feed multi-grade oil to your engine because it lessens drag. Change the oil from time to time. Certain engines work better with particular kind or grade of fuel see the vehicle manual for it. Most of the vehicles on the roads have fuel tank caps that are either loose, damaged or are not there at all, causing 147 million gallons of gas to vaporize every year. Be sure that you close the cap properly every time you open it.
Ensure that air pressure in tyres are proper; poorly inflated tyres require more energy to roll, which not only cause wastage of fuel, but also wear and tear of the tyres. Verify your vehicle's tyre pressures at least once in a month, when the tyres are not rolling.
It’s good to have radial ply tyres because they offer comparatively less rolling resistance and longer life than the cross ply variety. By keeping tyres inflated to recommended pressure improves gas mileage approximately by 6 percent, also by ensuring that wheel alignments are proper gives 10 percent saving of fuel.
Avoid running engine idle for longer time. Generally many people spend time in warming up the engine after starting the car in the morning start driving straight away. The engine warms up faster while driving. If your engine uses gasoline as fuel than it's more efficient to turn off the engine than to run it idle it more than 30 sec.
As vehicle speed increases, air resistance increases in an exponential fashion. While going on long tour try to maintain constant speed it improves fuel efficiency.
See that you don’t use A/C frequently use it when required. With a/c on an extra load is put on the engine forcing more fuel to be used by about 20%.The engine runs inefficiently when it's cold.
Try to plan your trips during less-congested times of day. With less traffic, you can maintain smooth engine running without applying harsh brakes.
. Never put extra luggage on car's roof rack it increases weight. Road and weather conditions also play a major role in the fuel economy of your vehicle.
Driving on a plain road can reduce fuel economy by as much as 6 percent. On the contrary on a road with upward slope causes 7 percent loss of fuel. Examine suspension and chassis parts for misalignment such as axles, bad shocks, bent wheels, or broken springs.
Use Higher Gears: This might not be of particular importance to those driving automatic transmissions, but getting a car up to cruising speed and putting it in the highest effective gear available uses a lot less fuel. Beware, however, accelerating too quickly. Shoving the pedal to the floor in an effort to get to cruising speed quickly can, particularly with older cars, push more fuel through the system than is needed, resulting not only in increased fuel use, but in fouling of the engine due to build ups from partially combusted fuel.

No and the object looks extremely stupid to me. i do no longer think of everyone can properly are anticipating what human civilization would be like in two hundred years, much less 1000, ten thousand, or a a hundred thousand. If power utilization rises at cutting-edge costs we can be annoying approximately waste warmth in a pair hundred years, in spite of no rely if or no longer we administration CO2. To think of that we would desire to shop fossil fuels to stave off the subsequent ice age looks preposterous. i'm bowled over that GRL printed this, rather. The climate physics would or won't be maximum appropriate, in spite of the undeniable fact that it ignores each and every thing else that would take place for the duration of that factor. Now if have been at the instant heading for an ice age, it would desire to have been clever.

That is not the question as the earth is constantly recycling the CO2 that will feed the plants they will give us oxygen for the CO2 . good exchange but they have another branch that takes the CO2 and produces Wood , tree leaves, grass leaves, most of the leaves wash down the rivers to the delta where it begins to rot and produce gas ,oil and after a long time cold.So we should never run out we just need to balance the use of all our resources. in tern it will give Time for the earth to recycle. It has been recycling for a million years.

Use public transport more / use car pools.
Decrease sport activity that involves fuel consumption (Sorry to all the F1, A1 fans :(
Dont use fuel unecessarily to burn for special effects on movie sets etc

1) use alternative fuel sources: solar, wind, tidal, hydro, geotheraml.
2) use more efficient machines that can do the same work with less energy
3) build more efficient homes and buildings that can keep the same space lit up the same amount of lumens and keep the place the same temprature by using less energy.
