I'm researching my family tree and come to a block and wondering if anyone in the Cardiff area could help. I'm trying to find a Great Aunt of mine and/or her children. Her maiden name was Cora Lewis and she'll be about late 70's/early 80's. She was married twice, her first married name was Bridgeman (husband was Ken Bridgeman) and she had a few children, off the top of my head the names are, Denise, Kenny & David. There may have been one or 2 more.

Cora then divorced and remarried, the second husband was either killed or died in Cardiff. I don't know his name. I have no idea if Cora married again, went back to her maiden name or kept the married name of the 2nd husband.

Does anyone know any of the Bridgemans or Cora herself? They were all last known in the Cardiff area. I've tried papers, Internet searches, everything but nothing. I don't think they would have moved far from Cardiff as all the family apart from me has remained in the Cardiff areas.

commence on paper, then in case you get sufficient information, you may swap to a laptop software. Write down each and every thing you learn about anybody you may - it will be purely names, it will be birthdays, the states or cities they were born in. if you're actually not in contact with your household, it turns right into a lot more durable. Get your beginning certificate and get as a lot information off it as you may, consisting of age and birthday of your mum and dad and their birthday if given. seek for newspaper thoughts of births and mine them for places and dates. in the journey that they lived in a small city, the newspaper may have social columns with information of journeys and visits. searching on your age and your mum and dad age once you've been born, flow to the newest census that has had information released (as an example 1940 has been released in US, yet not 1950) and attempt to locate them - indexes are on-line to seek names. in case you may make sure addresses the position your mum and dad lived contained in the previous, there may nicely be city directories that would want to make sure the position they were and how lengthy they were there. because of the events of Mormons wishing to wish for his or her ancestors, there's a wide information base of names with conceivable hyperlinks. as an example, Firth, Idaho, is termed for a Mormon settler who donated land for the railroad service website next to his land. the city heritage has extra information which quite somewhat proves he's unrelated to me. on each and every occasion conceivable, get obituaries and mine them for names, a lengthy time period, cities and extra information to flow extra decrease back. England has had required passports a lot longer than u . s . so registration information may nicely be accessible. the approach may be lengthy and tedious. I were attending to renowned my tremendous aunt, a minor painter lively until eventually about 1949. contained in the approach, I have found completely incorrect information in 'authoritative' sources - a guy who went from people's names in a cemetery to similar names in a city listing - and thoroughly contradictory information in modern sources - the call of the minister who married her is diverse in 3 diverse newspaper costs printed an similar week as marriage. you'll locate information that in case you had common it 2 weeks formerly, you've gotten perhaps regarded at unique information of first employment, yet now you're 500 miles away and may't actual flow decrease back.
