What do you anti-illegals have to say about this? You probably think it is fair, don't you?

Town Bans Foreign Flags Flying Alone
By William M. Welch, USA TODAY
(Nov. 11) - The Nevada town of Pahrump is taking a stand not just against illegal immigrants but flags they may bring with them.
The elected town board in the remote Mojave Desert community voted 3-2 on Tuesday to enact an ordinance making it illegal to fly a foreign nation's flag by itself.
Flying another country's flag, whether it is a British Union Jack or the flag of Mexico, is punishable by a $50 fine and 30 hours' community service, unless it is flown below an American flag.
"Old Glory is sovereign," says Paul Willis, a retired carpenter and board member. "You can't fly any other nation's flag higher than the American flag."

The American Civil Liberties Union says the flag restriction violates the First Amendment's guarantee of free speech.
"There's no doubt about it," says Lisa Rasmussen, a board member of the Nevada ACLU. "People have a right, as much as we don't like it, to fly ... any flag they wish."
Pahrump is a rural fast-growing town of 33,000 about 60 miles west of Las Vegas. It is part of sprawling Nye County, home of the closest legal brothels to Las Vegas.
The law passed as part of a package of measures that also declared English the official language of Pahrump and denies town benefits to illegal immigrants.
"We don't have any" benefits, town manager David Richards says. "If we ever have any, they'll be denied to illegal immigrants."

Supporters say the law is a stand on principle and doubts anyone will be arrested for violating it.
"I can't conceive of there being anyone cited for it," said board Chairman Richard Billman, who voted against the ordinance.
The ordinance's sponsor, Michael Miraglia, a retired Illinois state worker, said the flag restriction was a reaction to nationwide demonstrations in May against a crackdown on illegal immigration. He said he didn't like seeing protesters waving Mexican flags and demanding immigrants not go to work that day.
"In Pahrump, we had Mexican restaurants closed that day," he complained. "Only one restaurant stayed open."
Rasmussen said the ACLU would probably take legal action against the town.
"People are nuts out there," she says. "Totally nuts."

Nice Article...Interesting....Yea the ACLU is the bomb.....I Have actually filed 2 reports on behalf of clients with them within the last 2 weeks ... but.... what I find more interesting is the fact that RACISM leaves such a void where one's brain should be

Flags of a Country, other than our Own, are okay at their Consulates. Otherwise, the ones flying the flag of another Country by itself is insulting Our Country, and Our Stars and Stripes. Even the Flags of Our Own States are positioned below the level of Our National Flag.
As for the ACLU, they are an Anti-American Organization, dedicated to the destruction of the United States of America. They should all move to Iran ASAP, along with their Headquarters and Supporters. They will be welcomed with Open Arms.

I'd like to see some city go ahead and take the ACLU to court for about 850 pentillion dollars and that'd force em to either a) pay up, b) close shop, or c) move to some remote island in the South Pacific where the only telecommunications is banging on hollow logs with sticks and barking at the moon. It's largely thanks to the antics of the American Communist Liberals Union that we have a bunch, big bunches of problems to begin with, in my opinion. If you're not breakin' the law, or trying to, there's no real need of their 'union' to begin with, other than people that are trying to wreck the actual Union, the Union of the 50 states, that is. If you study back, the guy that started the ACLU was a commie, a red, a pinko, anti-american, the whole trip. Let's have it in plain advertising, and go ahead and call it the MCLU, because that's what's REALLY going on, as far as I can see...read the papers more, and see if what's going on someplace like Mexico is what you really want happening on your street. I vote 'no', and give kudos for cities, counties, and townships for standing up for their rights on this.

Well I would say that flying a flag of Mexico by itself is illegal becauise it has been for a VERY VERY VERY long time.
According to US Federal law any flag on American soil, if not the flag of the United States, MUST be hung underneath a United States flag. To fly any other flag alone on american soil is illegal, always has been, and it right and proper on American soil.
As for the ACLU..an old and good organization (like the republicans and democrats) that has been corrputed by slaphappy morons (like the republicans and democrats) who now fight tiny trivial battles that no one should be fighting unless we get rid of all war, poverty, racism, clas distinctions, gender discrimination, crime, etc..you know...real problems that the aclu, republicans and democrats are too lilly livered to address

I see the point that this town is trying to make, but it is discorteous to fly a flag of one sovereign nation below that of another. This does not help those of us who believe that illegal aliens should be removed from this country. It is an empty gesture which merely galvanizes the opposition, as evidenced by ACLU's involvement.

I am not really for or against this acton
i hav dane alot of research about illegal immigration and while i am not against people immigrating to our country i do think that something needs to be done to stem the illegal part
i think that there wouldnt be so much if it was a little easier to get into our country permanatly
so i dont know what i think about that town
i do think that the ACLU it really dum and is just trying to strip upstanding americans of our rights and give them to those who would rather spit on them
Send the ACLU to france and let us live in peace again

"Freedom of Speech" should protect the American Flag. There are rules for display and handling of the American Flag, which should be respected.
Thank you Veterans Of Foreign Wars for publishing a booklet to teach people how to display and respect the Flag!

I believe the "rights" of the illegal aliens stops at flying anything other than our flag, anywhere, anytime! I think it's about time the cities & states are taking a stand against illegals...it's obvious our federal government has been bought & paid for by other than middle-class Americans!

Let's see...
They don't want to learn English.
They don't want to obey the laws of our country (which is why they are illegal in the first place).
And now they want to fly the flag of Mexico.
It sounds like an invasion to me.
It also sounds exactly like the type of people the ACLU would defend.
I like this town!
