can anyone recommend a brand that will not smear - he's tried many that claim not to smear and yet - they smear!

My husband has to write on a clip board for work often standing in a vacant field or construction site - balancing the clipboard on one hand while writing - this is when the ink smears.

or this comment from another website (4th comment down), "I adore these pens. They're Sakura Pigma Microns. I'm left handed and they don't bleed at all. They have a great staying power (I've used one for 4 months now); they come in all sizes of tips and colors, and dry instantly. I highly recommend them.

The best solution is to turn the paper more. Not his hand, just the paper.

Erasable pens are the worst for smearing. He might want to try the gel-type inks.

biro's dont smear that much, especcially WHSmith ones. Ink/Gel pens are then worst. My friend has no trouble writing with biro's and shes a lefty. Also he should lift his hand off the paper more and not rub so hard as his hand moves. Hope it helps!

Use a ball point pen. If there is still smearing it is his writing technique and not the pen. Ball point pens are the same no matter the hand used.

I am a lefty and I only use to have this problem when I was in grade school. Did you mean your son or daughter?
