I have a friend who LOVES to bake, and she would like to become a professional. I was just curious as to what other people who love to bake or bake a lot would like as a gift for christmas. What is the one thing in your kitchen you couldn't do without? She has the basic stuff, but she did tell me she wanted some of those frosting tips. Any suggestion for a good set of those?

Williams Sonoma is pretty pricey but they have some good quality baking items, and i've seen those tips there. Since she is an amateur, I'd suggest picking up a few cookbooks as well and maybe even a gift card to Williams Sonoma so she can pick up whatever else she needs to get. =)

A good sifter

Good, DEEP mixing bowls that are perfectly round on the bottom

Measuring cups/spoons (good durable ones)

Rubber spatulas...I bake a lot, and mine wear out fast.

Cooling racks that don't rust.

Parchment paper

Mixer

Yeah, a good set of frosting tips and bags

A book for decorating with icing tips

A set of pro icing food colors (wilton has deluxe sets at hobby lobby)

Cookie cutters

A GOOD oven thermometer

How about a Pampered Chef gift certificate???

Seriously great products and great warranties.

I love to cook, have almost everything that pampered chef sells. My favorite is the stoneware. I make cookies, cakes, pies, meats, veggies... anything really that you can think of on them.

She can get the easy accent decorator, has several different tip styles, very easy to use and clean. Also we have a decorating bottle set that uses the Wilson tips (temporarily out of stock).

A gift certificate from King Arthur Flour. Any serious baker will tell you that they are the benchmark for quality and have pretty good prices on pretty much anything one will need.

go to Bed Bath and Beyond...get a big mixing bowl and then make a big gift basket with all different utensils, cooking sheets, cooling racks, tips, measuring spoons, and you could even throw in some baking flour, chocolate chips, nuts, different stuff to put in cookies and cakes...just have fun...she will love it because you thought alot about it!!!
