You cannot deal with this alone, you need help. See a doctor and explain how you feel and ask to be referred for councelling. You will be taught relaxation and coping techniques which will help a lot. Good luck :D

First of all, you should ask yourself if you have recently become sick with food poisoning or some sort of contagious virus, because experts say that for most people, the onset of OCD occurs after they've recently been infected with something and now they're afraid to touch anything for fear they'll get sick again. Since it's sort of early in the game and you already recognize that you have a problem, you can probably get sorted out quite quickly by visiting your regular physician, who will probably refer you to a mental health care professional. Another option is facing your fears. Maybe if you just go ahead and put your hands on that trash bin, or if you go touch something kind of gross, and you see that it won't make you sick or germy or anything, maybe you can help yourself get over it. It's good that you recognize the smptoms already, because that's half the battle. Good luck!

Your MD can recommend a combination of drugs, and behavioral therapy to combat OCD. You would benefit greatly from treatment, and regain a normal life in the process. This is not something that will go away, it will get worse. So the sooner you begin treatment, the better off you will be. I wish you all the very best in this matter.

i have ocd for real, if i am writing on paper and i make a mistake or there is a little dot on the paper that doesnt connect to a letter or word i have to start over on a new paper and if u rip the paper out of the book i freak out becuase the book says 100 pages but there are only 99 pages now, so i have to get a new book. anyway, the way i learn to cope with it is to just tough it out. just tell yourself over and over its ok and dont do anything about it, it will start to go away.

talk to your dr. asap. the sooner you discuss treatments the better off you will be. it's better to catch it early rather than let it take control of your entire life.
