Tonic water can work wonders on niggly headaches - just a glass of it when you feel it coming on and the quinine helps to reduce the aching, if not eliminate it altogether.
It might also be worth while trying to alter your posture - have you started a new job, or got a new piece of equipment in the last 18 months that's making you sit differently? Some simple back exercises or a session of yoga each week might provide a little gentle relief.
Also worth considering are homeopathy, the Bach flower remedies (rescue remedy is the best known, but there are others too), lavender oil in an oil burner, and the Flower Essences by Jan de Vries. Pop into your local health food shop and see what they can recommend. Tension Tamer tea is a good all-rounder that'll help you relax and may be beneficial too.
It might be worth thinking about whether it could be linked to your hormones too - I sometimes get random headaches at certain times of month, and Evening Primrose Oil is very helpful for regulating hormones (and it's good for your skin too!).
And don't worry about it, it's unlikely to be something so serious at your age and the stress will probably just make your head ache worse!
Take care of yourself...

To be honest I have always had headaches but when I go on holiday they miracuously disappear, so I know it is stress related even though I never feel stressed I must be a bit. If I have a busy day at work or have to go somewhere new for example, in the car and I don't know how to get there I get a headache and the pain is all over my head in different areas all the time so I really really wouldn't worry about it. Probably the worry is making it worse as well. The doc laughs about your brain tumour as they are quite rare and also you would definitly know if you had one I am sure so forget that idea I reckon its stress related.

There are definitely lots of reasons for headaches. They may be related to allergies. Growing up, my mom always had at least 1-2 cats and I used to get terrible headaches. When I moved out, they went away. Now everytime I'm around cats, I get itchy eyes and a runny nose...I know for sure I'm allergic to them. A couple years ago, I had a headache that wouldn't go away with either Ibuprofen or Tylenol and I tried Excedrin Sinus and that worked. Good luck!

Try having enough sleep and try not to worry about your headaches. Eating lots of pills might not be good. Maybe doing something fun and less stress-free for a change would do better? Laugh or talk about simple things with your loved ones? Herbal tea would do good too. Just relax and take a break for a while. Take care. :)

I had exactly the same problems and even had a scan to see if there were any problems,I was also taking up to twelve paracetamol a day.
In the end I asked to see an eye specialist who discovered that my left eye was almost always dry and not producing enough tears to keep the eye moist so he prescribed Viscotears eye drops and the difference is remarkable and apart from the odd headache everything is fine however, you have to use these drops all the time otherwise the headaches will return.
Try mentioning this to your doctor, good luck.

It could also be something you are eating. Quite often people don't realize that foods can cause headaches. Some of the most common offenders are chocolate, alcohol, diet drinks containing aspartame, dried fruits, dairy foods, citrus fruits, and any foods that are aged, cured, pickled, soured, yeasty, or fermented. Also foods containing, nitrites (foods like hot dogs), MSG, casein and tryamine. These can all cause headaches and migranes for many people.
Take a look at the foods you are eating. If what you are eating contains any of these, try cutting it out of your diet for two weeks and then see how you feel. If the headaches go away, then you know food is the culprit.

It sounds like you're having stress headaches. Try drinking an herbal tea that has caffine in it and see if that helps out. I drink a lot of green tea and I don't have nearly as many headaches as I used to.

Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Sometimes non-reflective prescription glasses cause problems when you spend more time in front of a TV or Computer. Maybe anti-glare will help. This isn't mumbo jumbo.
Find out from your optician, too much glare can give you a headache.

I know exactly what you are going through, first you have to try and stop worrying about if its a brain tumor. I did that too after my sister died from a brain tumor. They have finally figuired out that my headaches are from my neck being out of alignment. If you find your neck is still and sore when you have these headaches, might want to have that checked out. Physical therapy can help if it is.
