Um, if you have a recent MAC and are using the MAC OSX, that IS Linux... it is Debian Linux for that matter. Look in the Utilities folder under the Tools section for "Terminal" - that is the Linux shell for OSX. Just fire it up and start issuing your Linux commands right from there.
