first, the seed absorbs water and swells. This is called IMBIBITION (like the word imbibe). Some plants need to be nicked or cut to start this process. Others need to pass throuigh an animal.

Many plants then wait for sertain conditions to be met. Some want to be exposed to light, others want to be dark. Another factor is temperature, some require a freeze cycle.

The tiny root grows upward till it sees light, then turns around and grows downward forming a little loop.

After more growth, the loop straightens and lifts the head of the plant out of the ground.
Then the plant sends out a little root calle dthe RADIX.

Seed absorbs water . water dissolves the stored food in the seed supplies food to embryo or baby plant
IN the presence of sunlight the root tip and stem tip release hormones which in turn make the growth of root and stem.this process is called 'differentiation'
when once the seed developed in to seed ling with one or two leaflets they start synthesising the food with the help of sunlight and it grows,
