I had a relationship with someone for 7 years. It had many ups and downs. WE have a child together. NO plans of getting married. We argued a lot and differences started coming up more and more. We decided to seperate and go are seperate ways. I have genital herpes. Was I stupid for letting him go when he accepted that condition. Should that be a reason to keep things going with someone?

The fact that he accepted this condition is great. But if things are rocky, you are fighting constantly, don't want to marry... that shouldn't be a reason to stay with him. I personally don't know how I would react if I found out someone I was seeing had an STD. There are plenty of men out there that will accept it if they really love you. Don't settle.

No, it's not a good reason at all. You separate and it's always for reason(s) 'cause every time you go 'back'...those reasons are there and they multiply.... You have to accept your herpes and not worry about it as it's not something you can change. Men who care truly about you will accept you for you. You just have to ensure him that you will not infect him....you know when and when not to - safe sex works for most men.
Just keep the relationship strong for you child's sake.

no, you were not stupid. havign genital herpes is not the end of the world. find someone who loves you, respects you, and accepts you. besides all that arguing isnt good for a child anyway.

No. I know from personal experience the right guy will accept your situation. I've been happily married for 6 years and it's never been an issue.
