I am an amature so can not pay a modeling fee but also I do not charge to take photos. Give them a free CD with their photos later.
Had some luck in Chinese take aways but need more sugestions

Not so keen on taking photos in the street in Chinatown and I need adults - children could present other problems!

What about going to Chinatown in Leicester Square You will get lots of shots there. Children walking in the road, the market, the restaurants. There is so much going on there you will get some really good portraits. You could also go to colleges...There are lots of chinese (or Japanese) students at Oxford

if you don't want to go to china, go to a big shopping mall. you're sure to find some chinese people there. although it may be awkward to ask them to model for you...

There are some modeling agencies that you can hire a model from. don't know if it would be too expensive or not though.
