You were trying to fill the emptiness you felt after the loss of your mum with buying new things like a house. Now you realsie that these things cannot fill the gap your mum left so they seem pointless and you feel like dumping it all.

When you lose your parents the void is so big it feels like the world has ended. We all cope in different ways and you simply tried to fill that void. Nothing can replace our parents but we retain our memories and for the lucky ones those memories are good.
So, start writing down all your memories, get the old photo's out and have a good cry, just like I'm doing as I type this.

Of course not. You used the items to fill a void and get over your grief. We all do strange things when we lose someone close.

I'm sorry you lost your mum - I know that pain too - now you can carry on with life as your pain has eased (it never goes away), but as you have experienced, it eases.

God bless you and I hope you can now enjoy some of the things you bought.

sure, people deal with death in many different ways. No one way is right or wrong. You were probably also dealing with some sort of depression, again dealt with in many different ways. I once delt with depression by spending money on frivolous things and paying for it and regretting it later. Don't beat yourself up, learn from the experience and next time do things differently. Thats all we can do in life. As long as we learn from our mistakes then our life experiences make us who we are today.
