Hi,
I need a device that will cut the power (electricity) then the voltage gets too high.

For example, in my city we have 220V, so I need a device that will cut the power when the voltage gets above 230V.

I will this device to protect Computers and other devices.

If the device restores the power when the voltage returns to a normal level, it would be really helpful. Otherwise I will need to power the device on again.

The simpler/cheap the device the better ;)

Thanks
Oliver

A surge protector will protect against voltage spikes.

You don`t need to protect against anything else. Voltage doesn`t go above a certain tolerance. Even if it did, your computer will not be troubled (it is the 10kV voltage spikes that would cause problems)

Retailers will try to scare you into buying devices that you do not need. Even surge protectors are not necessary as high voltage spikes are very rare and the equipment would probably cope with them anyway. I have never used one and the 1000s pieces of equipment I`ve used over the years have suffered no ill effects.
