Maybe you need to clarify what kind of certificate you mean. There are several jobs though where you can get a certification that is valid in the civillian world. For example all medics take the national registry exam and are EMT-Basic certified.

Army Archievement Certificate, Army Appreciation Certificate, plus there are hundres of more certificates you can get.

well, it all depends...out of boot camp, you really dont get anything...when you are assigned to your A school, you can receive a certificate....I was a corpsman, so i received a certificate showing i graduated the program and was certified in first aid and CPR...

now, my husband has been to A, B, and C schools...he holds many certificates for his rate

Well when you ETS(that's when you get out) the military gives you a piece of paper called a DD-214 form, which is supposed to list your history in the armed forces.

You can probably get anything from a GED certificate to a death certificate. You need to be more specific.

Like everyone else said ...you can get quite a few for different things. My husband has a whole bunch for various different courses, awards, etc etc.
